1970 Chris Craft XK-22
I
found her in September '06 on
Craigslist in Dallas.
The ad was very cryptic - it said
"for sale -Chris Craft XK-22. If you know what
this is and are interested, call; if you don't know what this is, don't call.
$3,000."
I had
completed everything I wanted to do on my previous boat, a vintage wooden Chris
Craft Continental, so there was no more "project" in it. The WBA had had a
rendezous at Pier 121 on Lake Lewisville earlier last summer and that's when I
saw Roy Schindler's XK-19's. I was really impressed with both the boats and
Roy's work. So when I read the add, I immediately called Roy and talked with
him about the XK's, and that convinced me it would be a good project
